Working with Students with Multiple Disabilities:

This training is geared toward educators who work with PreK-12th grade students identified as multi-disabled and visually impaired/blind. Content will be introduced using an engaging and informative PowerPoint that reviews best practices for working with and supporting this population of students.
Specific strategies, adaptations, and hands-on demonstrations will be provided. Participants will also have an opportunity to explore a variety of adapted materials. Educators will be introduced to the Active Learning model as a total approach for promoting the development of children with visual impairments and severe multiple disabilities.
Participants will explore materials and instructional strategies that support learners to be active participants in their surroundings. Participants will also be introduced to simple and budget-friendly ways to change environments to promote active learning.
