See What's Possible: Annual Workshop for Educators
Thursday August 10, 9:00am - 3:00pm
The Workshop is hosted at Cleveland Sight Center and is designed for a variety of school staff who work with children with low vision, cortical visual impairment and or blindness during the school year:
• General education and administrators
• Intervention specialists and therapists
• Art, music and PE teachers
It will feature engaging and informative strategies, accommodation ideas, technology, material and equipment demonstrations to help meet your students’ needs. Several new workshops will be offered this year including human guide training to kick off the day!
SESSION 1:
• Pre-Braille & Braille
• Brain-Based Visual Impairment Overview
• Material and Instructional Adaptations for K-12
• Adapting Physical Education Class
• Adapting Music and Art Class
SESSION 2:
• Classroom Interventions & Adaptations for CVI
• Material & Instructional Adaptations for Pre-K Classroom
• Overview of Expanded Core Curriculum
SESSION 3:
• Active Learning for Students with Multiple Disabilities
• Material & Instructional Adaptations for K-12
• Overview of American Printing House for the Blind and Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence
• Educators and Orientation & Mobility Concepts Across Disciplines
