African Drumming Class
Thursday April 24, 3:30pm - 5:00pm
Through a partnership with Broadway School of Music & the Arts, Cleveland Sight Center will host an 11-week drumming class series with teaching artist Jordan R. Lee. Learn the basic rhythms of drumming, the important role drumming plays in African life and experience the soothing effects of repetition. Explore many different drumming styles like Afro-Cuban, Afro-Brazilian, West African Djembe DunDun tradition, Bomba tradition from Puerto Rico, and Samba from Bahia, Brazil in South America.
The goal of these classes is to build skills through sequential learning. Therefore, we ask participants to plan on coming every week (of course, things come up!) as consistent attendance is essential.
Time: 3:30-5:00
Cost: $40
Please email or call Gabriella Drago, Leisure and Lifestyles Manager, at gdrago@clevelandsightcenter.org or 216-658-4598 to RSVP.
