We are very grateful to over 60 Progressive Insurance IT employees who gave up their first sunny Saturday in months to volunteer at
Highbrook Lodge on May 21st.
Employees began arriving before 7:00 AM to a warm welcome and hot coffee. Employees from both organizations spent hours in the preceding weeks preparing for the day to run smoothly and accomplish several major work projects.
Several different teams had projects and worked with a spirit of comaraderie and purpose. Projects were spread throughout the entire 63 acres of camp. Trails were cleared of hazards and obstacles, Tall Timber cabin floor was painted, the patio was powerwashed clean, flowers were planted, the Robert's Field warning track was resurfaced, materials in arts and crafts organized, Palda Hall was painted, the Upper Playground was freshly painted, The Chapel was cleaned, trees and wood were cut, and the sensory trail was mulched and cleared.
One of the highlights of the day was the relocation of a sports equipment shed. It was an "all hands on deck" moment as everyone helped in some way to accomplish the extraordinary feat. The work was continuous and in time to help
Highbrook Lodge open for its 83rd camping season.
We are deeply grateful to each of the Progressive Insurance IT employees and their guests for a memorable and productive day. For more information about Progressive Insurance click here:
